The Twins in their Youth

Somewhere around 1910 or so, while Edwin and Earl were very young, they did exhibition boxing in and around the Shawano area at local Pubs.  After the exhibition bout, Charles Otto would pass an empty cigar box around for donations.  There are some gray areas in the twins preteen and teen years.  I believe they were only a novelty during this time of their lives.

During the 1920's, while in his early twenties, Edwin boxed professionally.  That was a time when he journied to his Uncle Ed's in Los Angeles, California.  While working as a Mason's helper for his uncle Ed, he did some boxing.  During this time he had noticed the name of Jack O'Day on a boxing card.  That was the name he decided to go by when he started wrestling in the mid-1930's.  Edwin and Earl decided to become professional wrestlers around 1935.
